Trust & safety

Trust is a system.
Not a badge.

Anyone can put a checkmark on a website. We would rather show you exactly what was confirmed, by whom, and what it means — then let you decide.

Verified identity. Confirmed context. Clear consent.

01 / The four pillars

What “trusted”
actually means here.

Every trust signal on TrustReferral maps to something specific a business or its client did.

01

A verified identity.

Your company domain, website, and work email have to match. That is how we keep one business account to one real business.

Domain and email alignment
One business per domain
A public identity you control
02

Two-sided relationships.

A relationship is not a follower count. Both businesses confirm it, and the status stays visible so nobody has to guess.

Invitation and confirmation
Clear pending statuses
Context from both sides
03

Words stay with their author.

Recommendations are requested or drafted, then reviewed and approved by the client. Consent is part of the workflow, not a checkbox at the end.

Client review before publishing
Full control over what is shown
Nothing anonymous
04

Private by default.

You decide what appears on your public profile. Introductions are invitations, not automatic introductions of your contacts.

Control what is public
Consent for warm introductions
No selling contact lists

02 / How verification works

A checkmark is only
as good as its evidence.

We verify a business identity before the profile goes live. Here is the sequence — no mystery, no black-box scoring.

01

Your domain is the anchor

Enter your company website and a matching work email. We check that the domain lines up before the account is created.

02

Your email confirms you

A code sent to your work address confirms that you represent that business. Personal email domains do not qualify.

03

Your profile is reviewed

Company details can be verified and shown on your profile. “Verified” always refers to a specific, visible step.

What we never do
Publish a relationship the other business has not confirmed
Edit or publish a recommendation without client approval
Sell contact lists or reveal who viewed your profile
Rank businesses by how much they pay
Show anonymous reviews that cannot be traced to a relationship

03 / Your data, your call

You should always know
what is public.

Your public profile is intentionally public — that is the point. Everything else stays in your workspace. You can update or remove profile content, and you can ask us about the data we hold for your account.

A note on language

Precise words.
Honest signals.

“Verified” means a specific verification step was completed. “Confirmed” means both businesses agreed to a relationship. “Approved” means the client signed off on the words shown. We try to use each word only when it is true.

  • Verification is a step, not a score out of ten.
  • A pending invitation is labelled as pending.
  • A recommendation always belongs to its author.
  • A warm introduction is a request, never an automatic hand-off.

Trust questions

Good questions
deserve straight answers.

Can't find what you need? Our team is happy to walk you through it.

Ask us a question
What does “verified business” mean?

It means the business completed the current verification steps, including matching its company domain, website, and work email. It does not mean we endorse the quality of their work. Read the profile and the confirmed experience before deciding.

Can someone create a relationship without my consent?

No. A relationship appears as pending until the other business confirms it. Both sides can see the status.

Who owns a recommendation?

The person or business who wrote it. We provide the request, draft, and approval workflow so the words cannot be published without their approval.

Are warm introductions automatic?

No. An introduction is requested through a connection and requires consent from the people involved. You can track the request in your workspace.

How do I remove my business?

Contact our team and we will help you remove your public profile and account data. If you have questions about what is stored, ask before or after signing up.

TRUST SHOULD BE VISIBLE

Build a profile
people can check.

A verified identity, confirmed relationships, and words approved by the people who said them.
